Accessing Eternal Life
In order for man to regain the access to everlasting life, Jesus, the Lamb of God, His only begotten son was slain. Jesus became the perfect sacrifice so that you, who was undeserving, can be saved and have the eternal life God desired for all to have. According to Apostle Paul, “For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time – to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.”
The reality of life everlasting is not just the free gift of salvation and eternal life when someone turns to God. The truth is that a lamb was slain – the only Lamb of God was slain. Because man fell into sin, the privilege of life was taken away. To bring it back, Jesus was slain so that the unfaithful man can be reinstated as the adopted child of God. As mentioned earlier, eternal life was meant for man originally, but sin changed it to eternal death. Paul said: “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.”
Can you imagine the cost of eternal life? What the world knows is that eternal life is a free gift. It is true. But before it was made free, God invested so much. In order to purchase the soul of a worthless man, God invested the life of His precious Lamb, His one and only son Jesus Christ. The bible says, “It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb.”
